Physical Education

The Physical Education program covers a wide variety of activities for students in all grades. These activities will challenge the students, both as an individual as well as how they work in small and large groups. The safety of our students is of the utmost importance and our standard is to make PE a safe and fun educational environment for all.

Miramonte is blessed to have a new, state-of-the-art gymnasium auditorium built in 2000 with regulation basketball courts, volleyball, an electronic scoreboard, air-conditioned: as well as large grass playing fields for softball, soccer, flag football, etc, a 1/4 mile track, outdoor courts for basketball, volleyball, etc.

PE grading is based on 3 criteria:

  • Participation - proper clothing and shoes, effort, engagement, and involvement
  • Development - progress towards specific goals
  • Citizenship - behavior, attitude to staff and peers, willingness to learn, and respect.

The students' PE experience will be challenging, fun, informative, and memorable. Parent support and prayers will help make this an amazing part of the students' school year!

Miramonte Christian School views participation in sports activities such as intramurals and sports teams as a direct means toward helping us achieve the following goals as stated in our school’s mission statement.

We value leadership, cooperation, team player attitudes, and willingness to take responsibility. We encourage a life-long love of staying fit and healthy in mind, body, and spirit. Additional mission statement goals are often met indirectly through participation in sports. The direction of our sports program is determined by its benefit to the well-rounded development of our students’ minds and bodies, and by the positive impact it has on coaches, participants, and spectators.

Parent spectators and coaches are expected to demonstrate patience with developing student-athletes and good sportsmanship when participating in events. Students and parents who are part of any Miramonte sports program must demonstrate a commitment to their team, their schoolwork, and good sportsmanship.
